Once again the debate has come up of whether filtering is safe and if bikers should be allowed to do it.
A new study claims that filtering or lane splitting is actually safer than not filtering.
In a review of 6000 traffic accidents involving bikers it was shown that bikers who decide to filter are less likely to suffer serious injuries than those who dont.
These claims come after a bike was crushed between a van and a bus with teh incident thankfully captured on camera,
FIltering is legal in the UK as long as its done safely and considerately. Its something I do but I do pick and chose when I do it and I will flash my headlights and honk my horn if needs be to let other road users know that I am coming.
However if you do filter you are taking a risk based on factors that you cannot control and that is not something that fills bikers with hope.
